July 19 @ 6:00 pm - July 21 @ 4:00 pm PDT$185
Retreat Dates: Friday July 19 – to Sunday July 21, 2019
Join Lama Geshe YongDong and Sherab Chamma Ling sangha in beautiful Comox Valley, British Columbia, Canada as we welcome His Holiness the 34th Menri Trizin, spiritual leader of the Bön tradition and Abbot of Menri Monastery in Dolanji, India for an extraordinary opportunity to receive these two teachings:
The Six Lamps of Dzogchen:
The Six Lamps is one of the most important Bon Dzogchen teachings, guiding the student to a direct experience of the luminous self-awareness that is the nature of mind. The practice of the Six Lamps starts with a meditative introduction to our own inner light, then progressively helps us to clearly discriminate between our ordinary mind and our wisdom mind. As we come to realize that all arising phenomena ultimately manifest from our pure wisdom mind, this journey of the Six Lamps is a powerful path to self-liberation. This remarkable teaching can be of great benefit to all seeking the true nature of mind through self-liberation.
The Six Lamps:
- Lamp of the essential point of the abiding presence of the primordial base, and the recognition of the arising of self-awareness from within this luminous expanse.
- Lamp of the essential point of where the primordial base and internal arising of self-awareness are situated.
- Lamp of the essential point of the path for the unimpeded arising of transcendent, penetrating wisdom awareness.
- Lamp of the essential point of the door through which the visions of pure awareness come forth.
- Lamp of the essential point of how to directly ascertain the wisdom of the three bodies.
- Lamp of the essential point of the bardo moment when delusion and realization, samsara and liberation, intertwine and diverge.
2. Sherab Chamma, the wisdom Loving Empowerment: 3 hours teaching and ritual practice.
Sherab Chamma, the Wisdom Loving Mother, is the embodiment of loving compassion.
As an enlightened deity, she manifests in many different forms according to the needs of practitioners. The eight manifestations that are the focus of this series of meditations are all peaceful forms that help us overcome and transform different types of struggles and fears, such as challenges with enemies, fears of illness, struggles with the unknown, and the fear of death.
Through the power of Sherab Chamma’s wisdom and love, our fears are transformed into self arising wisdom and we are able to creatively embrace the many challenges of our lives.
