Tuesday Night Teachings, Meditation & Practice

The Sacred, Three Heart Mantras, presented by GesheLa

In the ancient Bon Tradition there are many spiritual methods to temporarily benefit your daily life and ultimately free you from suffering. There are 84,000 methods or teachings, but the three Heart Mantras ( Nying po Namsum ) contain the essence of all the teachings. These mantras are the wisdom mantra (Sale Ode), compassion ( Mati ) and the healing mantra (Dhu Ti Su).The three heart mantras help physical health and emotions in everyday life and they can also lead to the three enlightened states of embodiment called Kusum. The three enlightenment states are: the enlightened state of emptiness (Bonku), the enlightened state of enjoyment (dzogku) and the enlightened state of manifestation (trulku).

Just as you need two wings to fly, in order to be free from suffering you need to use both wisdom and compassion. To develop and cultivate wisdom and compassion, we need protection which is the healing mantra. Each mantra contains different seed syllables. Wisdom mantra (Sale Ode) has 13 syllables. Compassion mantra (mati) has 8 and the Healing mantra (Dhu Ti su) has 15 syllables. Each syllable has a different meaning and all are essential to the spiritual journey according to the Bon tradition. There are also visualizations, commentaries, rituals, melodies and teachings associated with these mantras.Geshe La will guide us to learn deeper levels of these three-heart mantra practices for two Tuesday nights as part one and part two.   We will learn about the meaning of each syllable, how to visualize the symbols, melodies of each and how to use them as daily meditation practices. Everyone is welcome through zoom teaching, at your comfortable home.

You can join us on Tuesday nights for online teachings, meditation and practice.
