SPECIAL SUMMER RETREAT EVENT!
Guest teacher Shedup Khen Rinpoche
will guide us in Du Tri Su Jang Chok
Ancient Healing and Purifying Bon Ritual
The practices we will learn on this retreat include ancient Bon mantras and meditation methods. This ritual is designed to heal and purify our emotions and the karmic traces that perpetuate our suffering. We will practice ancient wisdom rituals and ceremonies that have been used in the Tibetan Indigenous Bon tradition as well as in other Tibetan Buddhist traditions.
Help someone who has died
These methods for liberating our ego delusions and attachment can be used for ourselves or for the soul or spirit of someone who has died. They can be used as a daily practice or performed when a loved one passes.
Through our meditation and visualizations, the consciousness of the person who has died will be stopped from wandering and be guided through beneficial symbolic images and offerings. Ultimately they will be introduced to the nature of mind which will liberate their attachments and free them from wherever they may be stuck. Our assistance in helping them to reach an enlightened state will help to end suffering and create a harmonious and tranquil condition.
Learn from an ancient Tibetan text
We will be using the empowerment and transmissions from a classical sacred text designed to end suffering and generate a peaceful and blissful state for both the living and those who have died. Everyone attending this teaching retreat in person will receive a copy of the ancient “Jang Chok” text. (Available in Tibetan or English). Those attending on zoom can order this text (“Jang Chok Ancient Bon Ritual”) from the Olmo Ling online bookstore
In Tibet there is a saying that:
” If you know how to die, you know how to live”
” If you know how to live, you know how to die”
Teacher visiting from Tibetan monastery in India
